COCOPLANS celebrates 14 Shining Years
Glamorous and truly shining!
This has been what Cocoplanners looked like as they dressed in black with gold accessories during Cocoplans 14th anniversary held at the Cocolife bldg. last Oct. 21, 2008.
With this year’s theme, 14 Shining Years, Cocoplanners gathered once again and celebrated its 14th year in the pre-need industry with big hopes in mind for the future. The program begun with the flash presentation about the company’s journey from the day it was founded, its endeavors till its shining years.
It was immediately followed by great dance moves from the Cocoplans Dance Troupe headed by Joy Mallari (Accounting) and Christine Anne Rosales (Customer Service Department) that truly set Cocoplanners in a blissful mood.
Excited as the Cocoplanners were for all the things that would happen in the program, Cocoplans President Caesar T. Michelena said that this year’s celebration commemorates and emphasizes how the company continues to shine regardless of the situation.
“We are here today to celebrate the 14 Shining Years of Cocoplans. For me, the theme is very appropriate nowadays. As you can see from our backdrop, there are 14 “Shines” on the logo. Some of which are very bright and obvious while others are bleak and almost imperceptible. Notice that whether it was a big or a small shine, it was a shine nonetheless. It means that all of the 14 years of Cocoplans has provided bright spots to the company and to all of us”, Pres. Michelena said in his opening remarks.
In his opening remarks, Pres. Michelena proudly said that indeed Cocoplans shined through the years. The company’s sales that continuously soaring high and the “Hall of Fame” award from the Consumers Union of the Philippines are proofs of it. Pres. Michelena also gave credits to Telemarketing activities which has given Cocoplans new blood while the Traditional channels have picked up the pace.
Furthermore, as CTM ends his opening remarks, he shared to everyone that he cannot help but realize the things that happened to the company especially during the past few years and how Cocoplans stands through the test of time.
“I realized that it was the time when we grew the most in almost every aspect of the company. I realized that it was the time that we got closer and was able to rekindle old friendships. I realized that it was the time when we thought out of the box and explored ventures that we would have otherwise not gotten into. Even if it was the darkest of times, I realized that it was the time when we shined the brightest”, Pres. CTM ended.
As the program progresses, the height of tension also advances as aspiring duets contestants showed off and uncovered their singing ability to the whole Cocoplans family. Jalica Angel Sumagang and Michael Soriano of STO-Lipa were the first duo who faced the jurors with their So Slow popularized by Jinky Vidal and Top Suzara. They were followed by Binondo Dragons’ representatives Veronica Angelique Aggabao and Ann Rose Jose with their award-winning rendition of Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion’s Tell Him whiles ITD and HRASD’s pride Jo B. Francisco and Mae Anne Villanueva got to their feet and made Cocoplanners feel their heartwarming rendition of Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga’s If ever you’re in my arms again.
However, twosome Kristy Rañada and Cherry Rose Pornillosa of CSSD-Op-ACTL-CCPRD group were truly beautiful and adorable as they unleashed their singing ability with Beyonce Knowles and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar. Unafraid to prove that they too got the talent, Jornel Labor and John Ray Espedido of MMO Calamba also dressed up and gave their best in their version of Tina Turner and Marc Anthony’s I Want to Spend my Lifetime Loving You. Finally, CSOD’s talents Patrick Adriatico and Christine Anne Rosales moved the audience to sing with them as they perform Janno Gibbs and Jinky Vidal’s version of Paano.
After uncovering Cocoplanners hidden talents and eating sumptuous set of food, awarding of sales drive qualifiers and the 2008 10th year Service Awardees followed. Every qualified agent was recognized and given cash prize for the productivity he/she had shown during the drive while the Top Performers received gift checks. Clamonte, Executive Secretary Executive Secretary IV –Office of the President; and Ma. Djezebelle A. Maypa, Supervisor - Financials and Taxes Section, Accounting Department, Finance Division that reminded everyone of their 10 years of loyalty to the company.
Surprises never end as the Telemarketing group unleashed their talent in dancing and as the Employee Activities Committee’s (EAC) “Tulong mo, TAGUMpay ko” drew names for their raffle promo. Headed by Renato Cruz, EAC gave away one (1) electric kettle, two (2) wall clocks, two (2) desk fans, 1G USB Flash Drive and one (1) Nokia 2630 to the winners of the promo.
In addition, the announcement of contest winners and voters’ choice followed. He also gave his thanks to President Michelena, Vice-President Majid Rahmani Pirbasti, and Vice-President Mark C. Banzon and to all Cocoplanners for the collective efforts they do for the company.
As ACT continued to give his special message to the Cocoplanners, he said, “I would like to give you two (2) of the most important lessons in life… One is that, in life you should never give up! Winners are those who never quit! They fail too but they never quit! Second, if you become successful never ever rest on your laurels. I commend Caesar (Pres. Michelena) for he never gave up! Instead, he took new venture – the memorial park. Now, Cocoplans is ready to face new challenges. No venture, no gain!” ACT ended.
